Breastfeeding is natural, womanly and beautiful. The milk a woman's body produces is perfect for her baby. The closeness of mother and baby forms a unique bond that they alone share. Memories are made, trust is established and love grows while a baby is nourished in its mother's arms. There are countless benefits to nursing; many challenges too. Every week, every day even, breastfeeding changes. It is essential to remember that we were designed to do this. Every woman is created uniquely and each story will have variations, but with education, support and determination we can overcome all obstacles to breastfeed our babies.
It is World Breastfeeding Week!
I have really wanted to write a breastfeeding series and what better time than now to do it. The only issue is there is too much information to fit into one week, so I have decided to turn August into Breastfeeding Month. Below is a basic list of the topics I will discuss.
- An honest story of our journey so far
- Helpful products
- Anatomy and physiology of the breast
- Quick tips
